Questions received through the survey will help guide the discussion and ensure officers can provide thoughtful, comprehensive responses.

The Education Committee is pleased to announce our next Docket Chit Chat - the NDA's series of roundtables crafted by and for our members, held the last Thursday of each month.  Docket Chit Chats are designed for member engagement, with varying topics and talking point that are intended to guide our chats so they don't become too chitty.  Join our give and/or take chats - no experience necessary!

This month our topic is:  What Happens in Docketing Shouldn’t Stay in Docketing - Sharing Docket Data Across Departments. 

Join the discussion as we collaborate on the following:

The value of docket data isn't in collecting it, it's in sharing it. The more departments that can engage and share information, the more valuable docket and other departments data becomes to the firm. 

• Capturing data from calendaring software – what kind of information is important?
• Should the fields be automated?
• Making sure the shared data is accurate and edited for typos and spelling errors; who takes responsibility for these tasks?
• Training teams on filling out the fields
• The value of sharing docket data.
• Data collection & collaboration across all departments
• Which departments? Conflicts/Business Intake, Marketing, Records, Library Teams/Practice Groups; Others?
• What about clients? Do you share data with clients? Who is responsible for ensuring data is cleansed of work product prior to?
• The value of docket teams in collecting this data – they are the eyes!

Daley Center | Circuit Court of Cook County ahead of the 12th Annual NDA Conference in Chicago. Space for this event is limited to twenty (20) participants. A waitlist will be maintained once capacity is reached.

This exclusive opportunity will provide participants with a behind‑the‑scenes look at one of the nation’s largest unified trial court systems and offer meaningful insight into court operations and judicial processes.

The guided tour will include:

• An observation of the Law and Chancery Divisions
• A meeting with administrative department heads
• A meeting and Q & A with a Cook County Judge

To ensure a high‑quality and engaging experience, members who register will be expected to participate in pre‑tour planning meetings. During these sessions, attendees will collaboratively develop curated questions, and each participant will be assigned one or more questions to ask during the tour. This structured, interactive format was successfully implemented during last year’s NDA tour of the Los Angeles Superior Court and received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

This exclusive opportunity will provide participants with the ability to:

• Attend a panel presentation and Q&A featuring members of the Clerk’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, including a District Judge, held in the Court’s Ceremonial Courtroom.
• Participate in a guided tour of the courthouse, offering an inside look at court facilities and operations.

Members will be asked during registration whether they would like to participate in pre‑tour planning meetings. These collaborative sessions will allow interested attendees to help refine and organize questions that will be provided to the Clerk of Court in advance of the panel discussion. The goal of these meetings is to help guide the conversation, ensure that key member concerns are addressed, and promote a focused, informative, and engaging panel experience for all participants.
