The SF/BAY AREA CHAPTER of the National Docketing Association is pleased to present its Annual Civil Procedure Calendaring Workshop.
An overview of civil procedure calendaring requirements in California state and federal courts with an emphasis on applicable calendaring deadlines and techniques. Ideal for litigation secretaries, calendar/docket professionals and paralegals with some basic civil procedure experience; or for those who need a refresher. Topics will include court structure, initiation of the action, service of process, responsive pleadings, discovery, motion practice, methods of disposition and court resources.
New this year is the addition of CA state and federal e-filing information! After each section, an overview of e-filing will be presented as follows. Please note that lunch will not be provided; but desserts will be brought in at noon and drinks (coffee, tea, hot water, soda) will be available starting at 8:15 a.m. and refreshed throughout the day. A link to parking sites and eateries will be sent to each registrant along with a short survey.

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Federal procedure followed by an overview of Federal e-filing information
Elaine Screechfield is the Firmwide Litigation Docket Manager at Morrison & Foerster LLP. For over thirty years, she has overseen centralized litigation docketing, including training, court resource management and database support. Elaine is the immediate past Chair of the Education Committee; and past Chair of the SF/Bay Area Chapter. She is serving as the President of the National Docketing Association. She has lectured at numerous forums including the San Francisco Bar Association; San Francisco Legal Professionals Association; (former) San Francisco Docket Association; National Docketing Association; 2014 Aderant Conference; and the Bay Area Legal Forum.
Mary J. Beaudrow, CCLS, is a Senior Docket Coordinator at Morrison & Foerster LLP. Ms. Beaudrow has been employed in the legal field for over thirty years, spending much of that time working in the attorney service business. Mary is a past president of Legal Secretaries, Incorporated, and is also a past president of California Association of Legal Support Professionals. She is serving as the Treasurer of the National Docketing Association. She is a member of Mt. Diablo Legal Professionals Association. She has lectured at a number of forums including San Francisco Legal Professionals Association, the Bay Area Legal Forum, and the (former) San Francisco Docket Association.
Robin Sexton is the Court Filing Specialist at Morrison & Foerster, LLP. Robin has over 25 years’ experience as a Litigation Secretary, having worked as lead on several high-profile complex litigation cases involving intellectual properly relating to technology and life sciences in state, federal and appellate courts. She is an E-Filing Instructor, specializing in e-filing under seal, a Forensic Photographer, and formerly worked as a Private Investigator.
