SF/Bay Area Chapter Annual Civil Procedure Calendaring Workshop

The SF BAY AREA CHAPTER of the National Docketing Association is pleased to present its Annual Civil Procedure Calendaring Workshop.

An overview of civil procedure, calendaring requirements in California State and Federal courts with an emphasis on applicable calendaring deadlines and techniques.  Ideal for litigation secretaries, calendar/docket professionals and paralegals with some basic civil procedure experience. Topics will include venue and jurisdiction, initiation of the action, service of process, responsive pleadings, discovery, motion practice and methods of disposition.

Speakers

Elaine Screechfield is the Firmwide Litigation Docket Manager at Morrison & Foerster LLP. For over thirty years, she has overseen centralized litigation docketing, including training, court resource management and database support. Elaine is the immediate past Chair of the Education Committee; and past Chair of the SF/Bay Area Chapter. She is serving as the President of the National Docketing Association. She has lectured at numerous forums including the San Francisco Bar Association; San Francisco Legal Professionals Association; (former) San Francisco Docket Association; National Docketing Association; 2014 Aderant Conference; and the Bay Area Legal Forum. 

Mary J. Beaudrow, CCLS, is a Senior Docket Coordinator at Morrison & Foerster LLP. Ms. Beaudrow has been employed in the legal field for over thirty years, spending much of that time working in the attorney service business. Mary is the immediate past president of Legal Secretaries, Incorporated, and she is currently serving as its Executive Advisor. Mary is also a past president of California Association of Legal Support Professionals. She is serving as the Treasurer of the National Docketing Association. She is a member of Mt. Diablo Legal Professionals Association. She has lectured at a number of forums including San Francisco Legal Professionals Association, the Bay Area Legal Forum, and the (former) San Francisco Association

Michelle Cleto is the Docketing Manager for Meyers Nave and has been with the firm for seven years.  She is responsible for all the litigation related docketing for all Meyers Nave offices.  She has over 16 years of experience in supporting attorneys and staff in both IP and Litigation calendaring/docketing.  She has been a member of the (former) San Francisco Docketing/Calendaring Association since 2000 and is also a member of the Alameda County Legal Secretaries Association and Legal Secretaries, Incorporated.  Michelle is the Co-Chair of the SF Bay Area Chapter of the NDA and works closely with the Membership Committee on implementing procedures for all NDA Chapters.
